A baby wants a hug; a hold,
But truly needs only a touch of comfort.
A teenager wants popularity,
But in reality they need to hide their insecurities
Children want their parent's blessings,
But actually all they need is a validation
A parent wants to be proud of their children,
Real need is just to feel the purest form of love
A professional wants glory, fame & money,
But the need is just a plain vanilla acceptance
A spouse wants a settled life with a partner,
But actually need is for right companionship
A traveler wants to explore the world,
True need is to get new experiences & come back to home sweet home
We want our religions to imbibe in us the right teachings,
But our striving need is just connectedness
A human wants and desires more power,
But really the need is just a listening ear
Ultimately, we all want just about everything,
Alas, in true sense we just need to connect with our self-identity.
